A Book in Every Bag is Ballinteer Community School’s initiative to encourage reading among our students. Every student is asked to carry a reading book in their school bag, and to read that book at appropriate times during the school day as well as reading it at home. Students are encouraged to read their book around 5 times every week.
When students are finished their book, they are to get a BCS Book Review Form from the Study Hall, fill it in and return it the folder for their class. Spot prizes will be awarded regularly for best readers/ most improved readers, etc.
Parents/guardians are asked to support the students by helping them choose their book and encouraging them to read at home.
